Open Facebook Messenger
- On your phone: tap the blue-and-white speech bubble icon (Messenger app).
- On a computer: go to www.messenger.com or open Messenger inside Facebook.
Log In
- Enter your Facebook account email/phone and password.
- If you’re already logged into Facebook on your device, Messenger will usually log you in automatically.
Find the Person or Page
- Tap the search bar at the top.
- Type the name of the person or business you want to message.
- Select their profile from the search results.
Open the Conversation
- Tap the person’s name to open the chat window.
Send a Message
- Type your message in the text box at the bottom.
- Tap Send (paper airplane icon).
Optional – Start a Call or Video Chat
- Inside the chat, tap the phone icon to start an audio call or the video camera icon to start a video call.
Check for a Response
- New messages will appear in the same chat.
- You’ll see a notification badge if they reply.
